Set a couple around the edge of the patio about 15 minutes before guests arrive so the scent has time to spread. Works on porches, decks, and campsites too.

How to use

1. Loosen the coils until the ends move freely, then gently press the two apart.
2. Set the coil on its stand.
3. Light the outer end and let it burn about a quarter inch.
4. Blow the flame out. The coil smolders on its own from there.

A dedicated coil holder makes this easier and safer — worth picking one up if you'll be burning these often.

Do not use indoors. Avoid prolonged inhalation and skin contact. Never touch the lit end. Keep away from eyes and clothing, and wash your hands after handling.

• Put fully extinguished ashes in the trash; wrap unused coils in newspaper to discard

First aid: If inhaled, move to fresh air and call 911 if breathing stops. On skin, remove affected clothing and rinse 15–20 minutes. In eyes, rinse 15–20 minutes and call a poison control center. Keep the box with you when calling.
